The Lotus and Coloma Valley area is one of the most pristine and serene areas to view wildlife and connect with Mother Nature. We are fortunate to be able to see this Garden of Eden from a hawk's perspective, as we climb in thermals, often rising to over a mile above sea level. The birds with whom we share the air often show us the way to the next thermal.
For years we have searched for a place to land and recently we have had the good fortune of meeting a generous landowner just below Perry Mountain, our launch site. A great amount of thanks goes to Reto Schaerli, one of our own pilots, who owns the property from which we launch, for the kindness in sharing his gem of a launch with our club. Also, Dr Janmohamed, owner of the LZ, has been extremely gracious about using his valuable land as an LZ.
